On November 26, the final event of the project took place, organized by Aguas de León and the CARTIF Technology Center. This event marked the conclusion of a project that has stood out for its innovation in hydropower generation and its contribution to sustainable development.

The event was structured into three parts. First, the project partners presented the main achievements. Among these was the installation of an innovative hydropower turbine at the Drinking Water Treatment Plant (DWTP) of the Porma River in León. Additionally, the results of replication studies conducted at the European level were shared, highlighting the potential of this system to be implemented in other locations.

In the second part of the event, various experts presented other initiatives and regional strategies from Asturias and Castilla y León related to hydropower generation. These presentations underscored the importance of regional collaboration and technological innovation in the transition to a more sustainable energy model.

The event concluded with a visit to the project’s demonstration plant at the Porma DWTP. Attendees had the opportunity to observe firsthand the operation of the pump as a turbine and the battery storage system, which are the technological core of this initiative.
